How to Export Gemini Chat History

Step-by-Step Guide

Access Google Takeout

Visit takeout.google.com and sign in with your Google account. Google Takeout is Google’s official data export tool that allows you to download data from various Google services.

Select Gemini

In the list of available Google services, find and check the box next to Gemini (formerly known as Bard). You can also use the search function to quickly find Gemini in the list. Once selected, click Next step to proceed.

Configure Export Settings

Choose your export preferences:

• Export file format: Select ZIP or TGZ format
• Delivery method: Choose to send the export link via email, or use Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive
• Export frequency: Select one-time export or schedule regular exports
• File size: Choose to split large exports into multiple files if needed

Create and Confirm Export

Review your selections and click Create export to confirm. Google will begin processing your Gemini chat history export.

Download Your Data

You’ll receive an email notification when your Gemini export is ready (this may take a few hours to several days depending on data size). Click the download link in the email to access your exported Gemini chat history and conversations.
