Learn how to export your Discord chat history, DMs, and server messages using Discord’s official data export feature. This guide will walk you through the process of requesting and downloading your complete Discord data export.
Open Discord and click on your user settings (gear icon) in the bottom left corner, then navigate to Privacy & Safety in the left sidebar.
Scroll down to the “Data Request” section and click Request all of my data. This will initiate a request for your complete Discord data export, including all chat history, DMs, server messages, and account information.
Discord may take 3-30 days to generate your complete message package and data export. You’ll receive an email notification once your data is ready for download. The processing time depends on the amount of data in your account.
After receiving the email notification from Discord, click the link provided to download the ZIP file. The export will contain:
Extract the downloaded ZIP file to access your exported Discord chat history. The data is typically organized in folders by server and conversation.
For AI services, exported JSON files may contain your private information (such as phone numbers, API keys). Please ensure proper sanitization before uploading to third-party analysis tools.
