How to Export Facebook Messenger Chat Data

Step-by-Step Guide

Open Messenger

On your computer, open Messenger.com and log in to your account. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner.

Access Privacy & Safety

From the menu, select Privacy & Safety.

Go to End-to-End Encrypted Chats

Click on End-to-End Encrypted Chats.

Select Message Storage

Click on Message Storage.

Download Secure Storage Data

Under “Manage Secure Storage”, click Download Secure Storage Data.

Verify Your Identity

Enter your PIN or use a one-time code to recover your chat history. If you’ve forgotten your PIN, you can use the recovery options provided.

Confirm Download

Click Download File, and when prompted, enter your Facebook password to confirm the download request.

Download Your Data

Click Download. It may take a few minutes for your download file to be prepared. Once ready, the file will be available for download and will contain your end-to-end encrypted Messenger chat data.
